OF THE DEAD WHO SEIZE THE LIVING: Beyond Heidegger’s ‘being-towards-death’
An exploration of existential theory and practice with Dr Manu Bazzano. Awareness of our mortality and of endings (in therapy as in life) is crucial to existential therapy. This talk/discussion will explore the four criteria in Heidegger’s notion of ‘being-towards-death’ alongside the work of biologist/philosopher Gilbert Simondon for whom non-life is at the heart of life itself. In what way can these insights enhance our work as existential therapists?
Dr Manu Bazzano är författare, psykoterapeut/handledare och en internationellt erkänd föreläsare och facilitator. Han har en bakgrund inom filosofi och rockmusik.Hans senaste bok är Nietzsche and Psychotherapy (Routledge, 2019). Subversion and Desire (Routledge) kommer i Oktober 2022.
